In Queens, there are not enough recreational centers. As a result, we are missing out on many positive impacts of having these facilities. Some may argue that children could go to public parks or there is no need for these centers. However, having a recreation center in our communities contributes to many positive shifts, such as economy, physical health, and mental health. Therefore, this is a request to have some funding be put towards building recreational centers.  

Recreation Centers are beneficial in many ways, such as health, activity, and economy. In the article, it is said, ¨Parks and Recreation facilities are powerful engines of economic activity! Contributing to higher real estate values, tourism, and economic development, local parks and recreation agencies generate over 150 billion dollars in economic activity nationally. (Department of Recreation & Parks)¨ In other words, the presence of recreational centers and parks accord to economic growth. In fact, they are a dominant engine of economic activity.

This is why we need recreational centers in our communities. To let children have fun and, most importantly, ensure their health and well-being.
