According to an energy audit done by ABM Building Solutions of the SUHSD in July 2021, more solar panels at Carlmont will “significantly reduce electric utility bills” by $80,000 and also “provide cleaner continuous power in the event of a power loss.” 

Thus, not only will installing solar panels save the school a lot of money, but also will help ensure that student education is not interrupted by power outages. Furthermore, switching to solar energy will allow us to avoid the rising costs of fossil fuels.
