Why this petition matters

Started by Samantha Sharpe

The Worcestershire acute trust is facing unprecedented pressures, lack of beds and services are being centralised to the detriment of the local community. Those who work for the trust have seen standards dropping, patients facing financial difficulties from being made to travel across the county for sometimes, life saving treatments and waiting in A&E for, in some cases, several days for a bed on a ward at  Worcester Royal as the service required is no longer available at the Alexandra hospital in Redditch.

We, as a community, can no longer let the trust keep letting us down. Staff and patients alike.  We need to take back some ownership of our health needs and not let corporate funding dictate how our illnesses are treated.

We need our services to be fair, appropriate and accessible to all ….

I believe we should start by saying no to an Aldi occupying valuable land on the Alexandra site and ask, “ why can’t we have more beds and service providers instead of a supermarket!”

Please sign and share, and help make our voices heard, as only then can we help those most vulnerable and at risk. Only then can we help stop the downwards spiral of our health services.
