American infrastructure has been lacking ever since many countries, such as China have been rapidly industrializing and developing its own infrastructure. This difference in development is severe compared to the US's painstakingly slow development, receiving a C- from the American Society of Civil Engineers. China has seen the largest Per Capita Income and GDP increase of any country in the late 1900's when it started developing rapidly in 1989. The US ought to do this as well to maintain its position as the highest GDP country in the world.
