Build a synthetic athletics track in Mandurah

My name is Sharon Davis and I am a Masters Athlete, competing at World, National and State level. I started at the age of 10 through to 25 and returned at the age of 40. I have two teenage daughters who also compete in athletics.
There is a huge lack of training facilities in the Peel Region for athletics and I am extremely passionate about trying to get a synthetic track built in the Mandurah Area. We have only three tracks in the whole of WA, two in Perth and one in Bunbury, both of which are a minimum of an hour away and up to two and a half during the week with rush hour traffic. Add in a training session and return trip home and this can take five hours! There are a handful of marked out grass tracks, often damaged as shared with other sports and marked up short of 400m.
There is an amazing amount of talent in our area from Little A's and Seniors through to Masters and an unknown number of undiscovered talent within our schools as there is nothing to offer them, particularly for the mid to late teens. I believe this is an important age group to target.
Please sign the petition if you want to improve the future for our children, our youth and the development of the Peel Region, if you are an athlete or parent or would be keen to use the facilities and see a track built in Mandurah. This would benefit Little A's, Seniors, Masters, Disability, Triathletes, Surf Clubs, Schools and all other sports for their training.
