On Wednesday, the Buffalo Board of education announced that elementary grade students will not be getting devices to do their online work. This means all of the most marginalized students can't complete assignments. We ask the BOE TO distribute the laptops just sitting in schools for students use during this time of school closure. It makes no sense to have them sitting there unused and children falling behind. This is not a normal situation and something's must be done now  that's not usual protocol. Every student needs to learn and the necessary tools are required. Many of the special needs students that learn better on the computer are halted. The Parents in our marginalized communities can't just go buy one and with everything shut down, the students can't go to a community center to use a computer.  The taxpayers don't pay school taxes so this situation can happen.
