Abuse is abuse – no matter whether the offender is a saint or insane. And no person other than the concerned can judge whether words or actions have been beneficial or harmful to her/him. So already on a secular level it is really strange that an accused and his sympathizers vehemently deny any kind of malfeasance, but speak in a flowery language about beneficial actions. How can results be so disastrous for all sides, if the means applied were those of a highly realized master?

From a spiritual point of view, the whole issue is also very disappointing: I have never heard or read about highly realized masters who tried “to save their bacon” – and this by debasing, accusing or threatening a sentient being. How poor and sad!
