Buca di Beppo: Stop Serving Cruelly Obtained Veal at Your Establishments!

Veal is a meat product created by stealing new born calves from their mothers moments after they are born, and chaining them by the neck to a crate that is so small it allows for no movement whatsoever. These calves go through serious and intense abuse during their lives. They are not allowed to move and are fed a diet to make them anemic so that their muscles can’t develop and they stay white, since white meat is considered more appetizing than dark meat. Kept in confinement for the rest of their short lives, they develop ulcers, pneumonia, diarrhea and lameness. After three to eighteen weeks, they are loaded into a truck and taken to be slaughtered.
As conscious consumers, animal activists, and compassionate people, we urge you to sign this petition. Supporting the veal industry is sending a message to animal agriculture that we are okay with fellow living beings being tortured for the sake of one meal. Say no to veal!
Tweet @bucadibeppo and @rtaz248 and let Buca di Beppo's CEO, Rick Tasman, know that you will not support this abuse! #boycottdibeppo.

Letter to
CEO of Buca di Beppo Rick Tasman
Dear Buca di Beppo,
It has come to our attention that your establishment serves veal; a meat product created by stealing new born calves from their mothers moments after they are born, and chaining them by the neck to a crate that is so small it allows for no movement whatsoever.
As conscious consumers, animal activists, and compassionate people, we urge you to stop selling veal at your establishment. Supporting this industry is sending a message to animal agriculture that we are okay with fellow living beings being tortured for the sake of one meal. We are formally asking that you remove the Veal Saltimbocca and Veal Parmigiana from your menu.
Peaceful protesting and boycotting of restaurants in LA and Ventura County that continue to serve veal should be expected, as we are an organization committed to spreading awareness to the public about animal abuse and finding justice for all living beings.
Please reply to allison@farmedanimalwelfare.org to let us know if you are planning on taking veal off of your menu. If we don't get a reply, we will assume that you are continuing the use of veal at your establishment and will respond accordingly.
Thank you for your time,

FAWL
