BSD - School wide Teams to better communicate with students
BSD - School wide Teams to better communicate with students
Especially with the recent testing high schoolers had to, I've realized that communication from schools to the students is, in all honesty, disappointing.
Most information I hear is spread to me via word of mouth, and usually this information consists of pretty important things, like assemblies, late starts and club information.
You're supposed to get this information via email, but frankly the emails that are sent to students, from what I've seen at International as well as Bellevue High, are fairly hard to read, include outdated information, and just don't include all the information that most students need. For example, the email sent to students every week at Bellevue High still has information about club forms due on the 30th of September. The emails contain information about the coming week, but this is often too short notice for students to plan around it. For example, seniors had testing on November 2nd, and all other students had a late start. However, this was only told to us at 7am on the 1st.
I think the best solution to this issue, would be to have a schoolwide Teams for each school that contains important information for students.
I realize that some schools already have this, like Newport and International, but many don't. By making this petition, I hope that a policy could be put in place to standardize this for each school.
Such as policy would solve the issue of communication between the school and students. Each type of announcement could be spread out between channels such as clubs, emergency closures, faq's, graduation requirements, sports, etc.
Additionally, more students would read it, as students use Teams far more than email.
Overall, this should prevent miscommunications between students and the school and make the students' lives a bit easier.
