The Woolards started this petition to Bryan Texas City Council and

Our beloved Brazos Valley Farmer's Market has been around a long time. It has gone from being a few people in a parking lot, to a large gathering in the midst of a field in downtown Bryan near a porta-potty. If there is inclement weather it makes it difficult or even impossible for some vendors and many patrons to attend this vital part of local business. Dallas has had permanent structures in place for their Farmer's Market for decades, Bastrop, Kingsville, and many other Texas cities have created similar venues with facilities that help local producers and those that love eating and shopping locally to do so safely during our ever changing weather here in the Lone Star State. It would also create a space that could be utilized by the community for any number of events and create a revenue stream that could defray the cost of Construction.

A permanent structure with clearly defined parking, and bathroom facilities would be a wonderful addition to the already amazing improvements being made in historic downtown Bryan. It would say to the many people travelling from all over Brazos County and adjoining counties, that Bryan cares for her local producers and those that love all things local.

Please sign this petition and let Mayor Nelson and the Bryan City Council know you support your local producers, and would like to see them have permanent facilities to keep that local spirit alive and well, all year long, rain or shine,
