The Jefferson County Board of Education will be rezoning a portion of North Jefferson County to the new Warrior Elementary School.  Third grade students living in the subject area will be the most negatively affected by this rezoning.  These students will have to transfer out of Bryan Elementary to Warrior Elementary for their 5th grade year only, the again transfer to North Jefferson Middle School in 6th grade.  This is a request of all parents of the affected Third Grade students.  Please allow our children to remain in their elementary school for their final year.  Students face natural challenges when transitioning to middle school and this is a critical time in their lives.  In the best interests of the children, please allow them to stay.  These children have been involved in school events and activities and majority of them will need that last year at the school they have always known to ensure they have a healthy transition to middle school.   Moving them for one year then moving them again, has the potential to negatively impact their mental and emotional health for years to follow.
