Why this petition matters

Started by Trevor Christian

Stopping the mint will only hinder the economy because agriculture cannot thrive on a currency that's "online"

Farmers get their crops, their harvest, cattle, all through cash. If our currency switches to online, many farmers will lose their land and create even more poverty, and hunger would become a closer reality for the U.S.

It is also how private parties operate, such as paying rent to your landlord through "side jobs" or other means of earning enough income to make ends meet, or tipping your server, and cash is a stable currency that will always be dependable. A good question to ask yourself is what would you do if the power went out and you're unable to access your funds?

If you were to buy some fresh beef from the butcher, how would you be able to pay if they have no chip reader? How would you be able to buy produce from the farmer's market? These are things to consider for people who make their living with the pay of cash. Not only does it help pay their wages but also helps to buy other materials needed for future operations.

This would greatly affect the lives of common people just getting by, possibly creating even more poverty, and when you take away a citizen's other suitable options to sustain theirselves, there's hardly many solutions to the outcome

As a concerned citizen, I implore my fellow Americans to not let this inflation become a reality, lest we all starve or lose the roof over out heads
