Help Bring Awareness To Corruption

This petition had 1,363 supporters

Don't let our families continue to be victims railroaded by corruption. Everyone deserves a fair chance when dealing with the law. Inmate Christopher Trotter didn't get that chance and didn't receive a fair trial. Corruption feels like it's at a high at something needs to be done about it. This is a petition to free Chicago's inmate, Christopher Trotter #K53016, who was wrongfully sentenced to 30 years, for 1st-degree murder in 1999. Too many lives have been wrongfully taken like Laquan McDonald, Eric Garner, Tamir Rice, and Sandra Bland. These lives can be brought back. Their loved ones can never hug and be with them again. But with support, Christopher Trotter can be brought back into his family's lives.

For those not familiar with this case, we're campaigning for the release of Christopher Trotter, who was incarcerated at a young age for over 19 years now. He is currently fighting to have his case over-turned due to being railroaded by corruption. Along with the evidence he already possesses, he needs your supportive signatures to present in court to help get his case over-turned, or time-cut for clemency.

Mr. Trotter received unjust justice due to corruption at the now exposed, 111th Police Station Department in Chicago. Unfortunately, this type of corruption is something many Chicago families may have dealt with involving one of their loved ones. Back in 1999, there wasn't as much awareness as there have been in more recent years. Still there lies a huge problem that needs to be addressed. This can be the beginning of not only correcting one victim of corruption but the stepping stone in attempting to correct many other victims as well.

He has been gone for too long and we want Christopher who is a father, sons, brother, family member, and a friend brought back into society. Therefore, with signatures in this joint letter, we're supporting his overall freedom. Whether it be by immediate release or time-cut to 20 years. Now, all we need is your support!
