For years women and people who identify as women has been told to cover up after wearing clothing that can be revealing to their body. They are told that they are a distraction to everyone and how they are called “whores” or “sluts” for wearing clothes that show their shoulders at school. Schools put women down to “protect” them but they aren’t protecting anything they are letting the cycle of pedophilia and rape culture happen all over again just because men think they have a choice or power over women’s bodies. There have been multiple situations when students were told something negative about their body from staff members at school from broward county school in Hollywood Florida. Many students have been confused for so long about how their shoulders can be a distraction in school towards other students when that is not true. Not a single student a school has ever said anything similar to how they think a shoulder is attractive. Students should be able to wear whatever they want to at school. Dress code not only makes a girl feel bad about the way she look but it convinces her that she shouldn’t wear revealing clothes because men can’t control themselves. Stop teaching women to cover up and teach men to control themselves and stop controlling the bodies of women
