On behalf of the Senior Committee, we are hoping for a memorable and special graduation after the difficult high school years we've endured due to the pandemic. We want to celebrate all of our accomplishments. We're worried that graduating in the parking lot will be too small for all of our families to come to watch and will be too loud because of all the cars driving by. We've come up with a solution we're all extremely excited about. Cyclone Stadium is available for June 16. It's an outdoor location that already has chairs and a sound system set up. We are under the impression that the only reason the school is having this year's graduation in the backyard is so students and families that may be unvaccinated can come. The Cyclone stadium does not have a vaccination mandate, which solves that issue. We want to graduate all together, no matter people's vaccine status, and it's outdoors which is the safest way to do that. It's also hidden from street noise that the parking lot would be susceptible to. Other perks: it's easy to travel to on the subway, some students already live in Coney Island, there is ample parking, and there is a jumbotron where we could put names and senior photos up. The other potential issue is that it would change the original graduation date. But it is actually perfect timing because prom is the day after, so we'll be able to celebrate our graduation. We'll be done with classes around June 14, so having the graduation earlier would be better for people's summer plans. We really hope you consider :)
