Brooklyn Dog Park is a highly utilised place in the community. Many local residents and some from other nearby municipalities visit on a daily basis and have made great friendships both in human and dog form. Locals have provided great support to the park and other residents by replacing toys, providing extra seating and assisting other residents when they are stuck isolating by taking their dogs to the park for some exercise. Council staff responsible for maintaining the gardens and lawns have also been proactive in looking after the park and have kept it as one of the best parks in the state. It’s a true community place.

However we can make it even better with a few extra amenities.

Firstly a water fountain and dog drink bowl in the small dog area. Currently our residents have had to provide their own drink bowls as the only current water facility is in the large dogs area. 

Shelter from any environmental elements would be amazing. Currently there is no cover for any rain or wind and if it’s too sunny, everyone is heading for the trees.

And lastly some solar powered lighting for the parks to allow safe access during non daylight savings periods. Many residents work a wide range of hours and struggle to get to the park during daylight hours. This is not to say we want the park lit up all night long!! We just want to provide a some more times through winter when the park can be accessed safely with lighting.
