This petition is to stop the rezoning on Old Leefield Rd., Brooklet, GA from an A-1 to an R-2 with the intent of building a subdivision. The applicant is Garland Nesmith. As residents who live on or just off this road, we would like to express several concerns. Traffic will double, Brooklet Elementary's enrollment will be maxed, affecting OUR children, and the addition of another subdivision backed up to Brooklet Plantation will take away the privacy and beauty of homes that were purchased BECAUSE Brooklet Plantation has that to offer. Brooklet, in general offers a small town country feel. People have moved to this community to escape the busyness and problems of bigger cities, such as Statesboro,  Pooler, and Savannah.  If Brooklet continues to add subdivision on top of subdivision,  we will lose the Brooklet we all love. We stand together asking the Brooklet City Council to deny this application, preserving what attracts current residents.
