Ben Robinson started this petition to Brookfield Retail Group

Aloha!

Ala Moana Center has been named one of the most successful, highest grossing malls in the USA.

It's long overdue that Brookfield Retail Group, the owner, showed some aloha to the local community by;

1) Switching out paper towel dispensers with a more sustainable solution such as hand dryers

2) Installing water-less urinals and low-flow toilets

3) Mandating that food vendors use sustainable cutlery (regardless of the single use plastics ban in coming years) - there's no time like the present!

4) Recycling - The mall, via Twitter said "While we do not have a consumer recycling program due to issues related to the contamination of the waste stream; we have a robust back of house recycling program for mixed recyclables and organics that has allowed us to recycle approximately 36% of waste at the center. Where recycling is not possible, waste is sent for incineration and used to generated energy. We are committed to improving our recycling rate and will continue to evaluate options for consumer-facing recycling programs within our properties. "

They don't even attempt to separate out waste at food courts.

They've been making money hand over fist and its time they show corporate responsibility!

Mahalo!
