We, the undersigned residents of Brookfield LaGrange Park School District 95, petition the Brookfield LaGrange Park School District 95 Board of Education (Board) to create a policy that implements live streaming, recording, and retention of all Board meetings and meeting materials, which should be posted online in a conspicuous manner for public viewing.

Pursuant to Section 2:240 Board Policy Development, "Anyone may propose new policies, changes to existing policies, or elimination of existing policies." Currently, the District does not have a policy in place that implements the live streaming, recording, and retention of all Board meetings and meeting materials. 

Live streaming, recording, and retaining Board meetings creates equal access to the information shared at the Board's monthly meeting. By live streaming, recording, and retaining these meetings the Board acknowledges the various obstacles interested community members face regarding in-person attendance including but not limited to: work schedules, transportation, childcare, and physical accessibility issues.

Live streaming, recording, and retaining Board meetings for all constituents to view highlights the importance of the Board’s role in our district and encourages involvement on behalf of the community while exhibiting transparency on behalf of the Board.
