Ferry Access Needed in The West Bronx!

Ferry Access Needed in The West Bronx!
The Bronx leads the nation with the most congested roadways, averaging around 200,000 vehicles that travel through our borough per day! Because of the high rate of traffic, Bronxites also suffer the highest rate of asthma in the nation. Scientists concluded The Bronx ranks worst for COVID-19 death rates and respiratory hazards among more than 3,000 across the US. While the Bronx utilizes other forms of transportation, like trains and most recently adding citi-bikes; we haven't had the efficiently of ferry access in the highest populated area in the borough. Currently, in a borough that houses over 1.4million residents, The Bronx only has one ferry stop, unlike our neighboring boroughs which have multiple stops. By creating a ferry stop on the West Side of the Bronx on the Harlem River can improve Bronxites' life expectancy by reducing the air pollution, as well as new opportunities of exercise. Let's give our Bronxites new avenues to travel safely and healthy throughout NYC.
