Bryan Soriano started this petition to Brockport president and

The purpose of this petition is to reduce any risk that might emerge from the Covid-19 Virus that has made its way to the U.S. There is only so much that is known about the virus as of now. Bringing individuals with the potential virus would be extremely dangerous considering how fast this virus is spreading world-wide. Our campus is located right next to the Brockport school district, which puts the whole community at risk. We also have an on campus daycare which would put small children at risk. Our students will be going on spring break in just about a week. Should any students become infected, they would continue to spread the virus, bringing it to their families and loved ones. A campus is the last place you should bring individuals to quarantine them. The close quarters create a breeding ground for the illness. Students struggle to stay healthy when they get minimal sleep and are under immense stress, especially during midterms. Therefore to minimize the risk of contracting the virus, specific measures must be taken in order to reduce any escalation. How can we know that the quarantined students are going to remain in their building? We are concerned students trying to remain healthy and prevent the spread of this epidemic therefore, classes should be held online until we are guaranteed the virus doesn't pose a threat.
