Brock Nursing Class of 2022 Petition for In-Person Pinning Ceremony

Brock Nursing Class of 2022 Petition for In-Person Pinning Ceremony

Over the past 4 years I have watched my fellow nursing students work tirelessly to achieve academic success and prepare themselves to be the future of our healthcare system. The Brock Nursing program has challenged all of us both mentally and physically from long nights studying for exams to 12 hour shifts in the hospital. Our Pinning Ceremony is supposed to be a celebration of all the hard work we put into earning our degree and it is a sacred tradition. We the Brock nursing students of the class 2022 believe that we deserve to have this ceremony held in-person so that we may celebrate our success together and look our peers in the eyes as we acknowledge all that we have been through to make it where we are today. Covid has already taken so much from us since it began 2 years ago and as provincial restrictions lift there is no valid reason to hold this ceremony virtually. We urge the Brock Nursing administration as well as the administration of Brock University to please consider what this ceremony means to us and find it in yourself to give us the recognition we deserve in the way we the students believe it should be done.
