Our children have been through over a year of Coronavirus lockdown restrictions with a significant impact on their learning. Year 6 will face SAT tests for the first time in 2 years. All the children have significant learning to catch up on and will be disadvantaged by this decision of mixing year groups which have classes of 25/26 and creating large mixed classes of 34 at a time when they need more support and stability than ever. The school has a Deputy Head and Assistant Head; they have the capacity to keep year 5 and 6 separate but are prioritising management size in a downsizing school over what the children need.
