I am signing the ‘Change.org’ petition in support of the Brixton People’s Kitchen to support their much needed community service that helps families throughput some of South London’s most populated boroughs which are facing the challenges of food insecurity caused by social inequality, economic inequality and housing insecurity..
The Brixton People’s Kitchen allows individuals and families in their local community who are experiencing food poverty to purchase/obtain nutritious food and household products at a low cost or for free. They provide around 340 local homes with support.
The Brixton People’s Kitchen also offers volunteering and work opportunities to local people with disabilities and vulnerable young people who are looking for a new start in life.
It would be a sad and shameful situation if this much needed community support organisation lost it’s premises.

This is essential, now more than ever. It would be a disaster if it was closed down and shameful for the landlords.
