Eliminating the Colony Collapse Disorder

As we've already discussed in class, the honeybee plays a crucial role in several aspects of society: environment, science, and technology. The drastic decrease in the bee population is a much more dangerous situation than we truly think.

Albert Einstein has said, “If the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe then man would only have four years left to live.” We must preserve the environment for future generations by keeping all ecosystems healthy. How will we do that without the bee? That's the solution to my petition.

From much research scientists have gained over several years, they’ve come to a conclusion that bees are suffering from what is called the Colony Collapse Disorder. This issue gets the name from a sudden “collapse” of the bees’ population. Without the bees being able to pollinate the plants, that’s almost a loss of $168 billion (in American currency.)

Overall, bees help make our planet look more pretty. The process of pollination is visually pleasing and to our mouths. Bees help flowers blossom so you can see their colorful petals. Not only is this aesthetically pleasing, this is beneficial for habitat growth. The habitat growth is crucial for several species of animals, insects, and birds that may also eat the flowers, therefore demonstrating a symbiotic relationship. “To the bee, a flower is the fountain of life, and to the flower, the bee is a messenger of love.” (Kahlil Gibran, 2014.)
