Allow locks in the military

I'm starting this petition because wearing locks are a practical way for African-American women to keep up with our hair. Locks can be clean, neat, and well kept. It does not have to be dirty. Locks can fit in head gear (if not done too big) and it's easier to maintain. African-American women in the uniform service have busy lives just like everyone else. They have a family they need to attend to, school, and work on top of that. We should not have to wear weaves or wigs to cover up our locks. As much as I love braids, it takes time to take them out. Wearing weaves can cause traction alopecia. And perming our hair is not always best, for it can cause fertility problems. If braids are allowed in the military, locks should be allowed too.
