On 3rd September during the CVD pandemic my beloved dog, Poppy had to to put to sleep due to advanced kidney failure. 

Sadly most veterinary practices have banned all families entering their premises with their beloved pets - despite all over services open with people wearing face masks.

This resulted in my dog being put to sleep in the vets car park in front of other families queuing up with their pets and causing us and them untold distress. 

I would like the BVA to insist that members allow public back into their surgeries if they wear a mask and social distance. It is not acceptable that families should be put through further distress on what is an already traumatic time.

Shops, pubs, hairdressers, doctors surgeries, dentists and opticians are all open again, vets need to be added to that list.
