Jessica Davies started this petition to British government (UK Parliment)

Our planet is currently in a crisis. Every year, 12.7 million tonnes of plastic enters our oceans. The breakdown of these plastics has been proven to enter the food chains, and 1/3 fish sold for consumption now contain plastic. Small changes are not enough. This is why we need your help.

We believe that the way to repair the damage that we all have created is to work with those who have the power to make the changes required. Therefore, this petition is asking the government to give a tax break to companies which become more plastic efficient, with 75% of the extra money the company makes from this tax break being reinvested into initiatives such as clean up programs or the introduction of reverse vending machines. The extra 25% will be left to the businesses and used as an incentive for all companies to take part and ultimately keep our planet habitable.
