BRING BACK GOVERNMENT FUNDING IN HEALTH CARE EDUCATION
The health and social care sector has been shaken since April 2017, A new Levy imposed by the government for a 10% employer contribution has resulted in health and social care education at Diploma level free funding being scrapped.
This means thousands of individuals working in care will not be trained in their Diplomas in adult/health and social care. Employers can still "buy" a course, but with this not being a mandatory requirement alongside the unstable economic climate for health care fewer and fewer employers are putting their staff on training to develop themselves in the health and social care sector.
It will become apparent soon that the funding removal for these courses will result in poor care, it also means to businesses that provide training courses are forced to make redundancies and even dissolve businesses due to the lack of students enrolling onto what was once a free course.
Bring back funding in health and social care education, Lack of training in care can be fatal, neglect and improper practices will become more and more the norm and we cannot let that happen.
Whether the solution is the fee for courses are returned to the employers upon completion of a course or no fee at all, this will ensure the proper training is still available to health care workers nationally.
Please sign this petition to bring back funding in a education sector that will ensure our families and friends alike will receive the care they deserve when they need it most.
