It is no secret the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted everyone, especially people's mental health and finances, and students have surely not been spared. 

This is why I am now trying to bring justice for university students of the United Kingdom, as the UK Government refuses to take proper action in order to support the student finance like refunding or reducing the tuition fees for the semesters affected by the transition to online learning.

After several debates over different petitions, the Government continuously came to conclusion that it was the universities' responsibility to provide quality education as well as setting their own fees, although themselves have required schools and universities to close.

As a response of the latest debate of a petitions asking for a £3000 reduction of university fees, the Government claimed "Tuition fee levels must represent value for money and ensure that universities are properly funded. Government is not considering a reduction in maximum fee levels to £3,000."

"Regarding tuition fee levels, this Government is committed to a sustainable funding model that supports high-quality provision, meets the skills needs of the country and maintains the world-class reputation of UK Higher Education."

However, on a recently conducted survey, 100% of students asked felt their money was not worth the education and academic help they were getting, while 78% were dissatisfied with how the Government handled the COVID-19 crisis for students welfare and education.

Now is time to put the Government under more pressure and to get them to understand students are no longer getting the "world-class reputation" education they were once getting.

If we are not getting the same education, we don't want to pay the same fees.

We are asking you to request universities to refund and reduce the fees of past and future semesters that had/have to be moved online as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
