With school closures due to Covid-19 students have lost 3 months of lessons. The government wants schools to provide the full curriculum but those sitting GCSEs and A levels will be at a disadvantage. By moving these exams to a start date of mid July students will have more time to catch-up on what time has been lost.

Examination marking process will have to be reinforced with more markers to meet university requirements for placement offers but I believe this can be achieved or the start date for these students is moved back to a start in October.
