John Haycock started this petition to British government

Did you know that Disability Living Allowance (DLA) cannot be paid to you if you are British and move to live outside the UK?
You are just as disabled whatever country you live in.
Because of this every disabled person in the UK who is in receipt of DLA becomes a prisoner in the UK. They have broken no laws, why are they punished just by being disabled?
This will apply to every disabled person in the UK who is in receipt of DLA, so if you want to move away from the UK when you reach retirement age, maybe to somewhere warm, or you want to live in another country for any reason, you will lose your DLA- which is the money you require for your needs. So you become a prisoner of the UK.
Someone who is able bodied when they retire and can work and live where they want. But us disabled people cannot unless we are willing to give up our DLA.
This is a discrimination and an abuse of human rights of the British disabled people.
Please sign this petition and together we can try and get this changed!

First cap MPs expenses and stop giving aid to countries that should not have it like India they are a nuclear power with a Space program, also Pakistan they are also a nuclear power. We should stop all Foreign Aid unless there has been something catastrophic has happened like an earthquake or flood etc etc then we help. We should also stop giving 4 billion in benefits to EU migrants in the UK until they have worked and paid tax for 10 years just giving billions away is just crazy when British people are doing with out. Maybe some human rights Lawyers to do something for British people, they seem to be very thin on the ground at the moment.

I started this petition because…
The British government wanted to control immigration into the UK so they put an earnings limit stating that British people have to earn a certain amount before you could bring your spouse to the UK (if they were from outside the EU). That amount that you have to earn is £18,600 a year which I do believe might be possible if you are young enough and healthy, but it is still cruel as it does separate families even where one of them is British
When I came to meet the woman who is now my wife (who is Russian) I was 68, retired and out of the labour market. I was soon to realize I was not going to earn that £18,600 and I would have to live in Russia to be with the woman I love and want to be with she is also my carer she does everything for me I cannot do. My only income now being my state retirement pension.
I told the Department of Works and Pensions (DWP) what I was doing only to be told by them that I was not entitled to my DLA because I was no longer living in the UK. As far as I know there is no legal aid to help you fight any benefit problems we have. I am quite happy to live in Russia but I would be a lot happier if I had my DLA. My wife has no interest in having a British passport or becoming a British citizen.
