The energy crisis is pushing up Electricity and Gas prices to an unaffordable level for many working families and are set to rise by 50% this year. This will push more families into poverty and more old people will struggle with the choice to heat or eat!

This will adversely effect  the working families, pensioners and children more than others as parents are forced to choose between feeding their children or turning the heating on longer to keep their houses warm.

This is a real crisis in the making and the NHS can ill afford to be swamped with elderly people suffering from illnesses directly linked to the effects of feeling the cold.

Those families working hard to sustain themselves are just as effected as everyone else and the energy companies will not step in to help with this. This really needs intervention at Parliamentary level to protect some of the most vulnerable in our society. It is especially more important as people are forced to work from home during the pandemic as suggested by government and therefore have to heat their houses for longer hours during the day and use electricity for their working equipment etc.
