Abi Shearer started this petition to British Governmemt

I’m petitioning to Ban the sale of fireworks to the public and encourage safe, organised displays with the welfare of our animals in mind. The recent stories of barely month old puppies dying of heart attacks, horses being found dead in their field, and cats and dogs panicking to the point of taking a fit, should make us ask ourselves are fireworks worth it? With fireworks being readily available to the public this allows them to be set off at any time in the run up to November 5th and thereafter. Allowing endless nights of loud bangs which terrify our beloved pets. If we encourage people to attend organised displays, the stress from fireworks is reduced to one or two nights a year and the safety risks even for humans, are decreased greatly. I urge you to dig deep into your hearts and think, what if it was your own pet quivering in a corner, too stiff with fear to move. Or if it was your horse that you had to find dead in it’s field the next day. Not enough is being done to look out for the welfare of our animals and ourselves at this time of year and I strongly urge you to sign this petition. Thank you.
