Petition update

6 Very Thankful Men

Yvonne Machugh

Dec 30, 2016 — Today I received letters in the post from the men that they all wanted me to share with all the petition signers.

They simply wanted to thank you. I want to thank you, we all do. Reading billys most recent personal letter to me is one of the most positive yet, and it's all down to you all taking the time to write and post a card. I wish you all a Happy new year, and hope that my first update of 2017 will be that the men have won their appeal and will be returning home.

Letter from Billy: Merry Christmas everyone, today we got a mass of Christmas cards, so many intact that the prison postman (Indian prisoner who deals with the mail) had to come to our cell and ask for a big bag so he could go and collect them all.
Truly amazing and what a boost to our morale. All the cards certainly made it feel like Christmas for us and put a huge smile on our faces, thank you.
I am so sorry I cannot reply to you all but there are so many that I think it would take me a year to reply to them all, so I hope you don't mind that I thank you all in this letter and not individually.
I have made a Christmas tree out of some of the cards and the rest are hanging all around our cell. We will do our best to celebrate Christmas, best we can and I am sure just looking at everyone's Christmas cards will raise our spirits if we feel down.
Thank you so much for your kind words and your support throughout the past 3+ years. Hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a fantastic 2017.

Many many thanks

Billy Irving

Letter from Ray:
To all our many supporters back home and around the world. A HUGE THANK YOU. For your kind words, your thoughts and your kind support. It is truly humbling. I have received more Christmas cards than at any other Christmas in my life. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Especially to our families for their relentless strength and support. All the best for the new year to you all. Let's hope that 2017 has a great start and sees our release and subsequently return home asap.

Letter from John: thank you for keeping us all in your thoughts at Christmas. It's very good to know that we are all not forgotten about and so many people around the world are giving their support.

Letter from Paul:
Message of thanks

Please allow me to offer my thanks for the numerous messages of support that have been sent to India.
As you will be aware from Yvonne's stoie, campaigning, via media, mps, radio etc, the messages are loud and clear to everyone, including our current hosts!!!!
Letters and cards from afar (all) over the UK, Portugal, Greece, Australia....your kindness has been felt in India, it has been a humbling experience during this prolonged nightmare.

We long for the day to see our loved ones.

Thank you and God bless you.
