Petition to reject Greyhound Services application to eliminate Lytton, BC route point
This petition had 486 supporters
Greyhound Canada Transportation ULC has applied to the BC Transportation Board under application #256-17 to reduce and/or eliminate routes and route points. The Village of Lytton is a Greyhound Services route point for the area servicing a population of over 3000 community members. These community members include Lytton First Nations, Nicomen Indian Band, Cooks Ferry Indian Band and many more. The Village of Lytton does not have passenger train service nor BC Transit services. Therefore, eliminating a once-day service seven days a week to zero would negatively affect the health of the communities that are struggling to survive. The local region would become more isolated resulting in a loss of tourism, economic opportunities and jobs. The BC Transportation Board needs to either reject Greyhound Application #256-17 or at the minimum hold public hearings. (Note: Names of online Petitioners will be included with the hard copy signatures and delivered to the BC Transportation Board)
