I am signing this because these people are not treated fairly. I have someone whom I love very dearly and was diagnosed. Here In Saskatchewan it is not better than in BC. I believe we as a society can do better to help and have compassion for each other. Much better. Love and price.

Our daughter in law and her brother, as well as the many living with epilepsy, deserve support in coping with this sometimes devastating condition

I've lived with epilepsy since I was 5 and have had a craniotomy that's now changed my life but had to go to Calgary for it! Unacceptable.

This needs to be changed. More funding is required

We need more beds! Our population is almost 4 times that of Manitoba's but we have the same number of beds. Ridiculous.

My son began having seizures in February 2020 and was diagnosed with right temporal lobe epilepsy this year. It took months and multiple seizures, including 4 in a 24 hr period, for a referral to the epilepsy clinic at VGH. So far, medications have not been successful. He is now waiting for additional tests; he needs a monitoring bed and we're told that could take up to 18 months. We have only 4 monitoring beds in BC!! And the BC Epilepsy Society receives only $55k in funding!! My son is just 19. He has his whole life ahead of him. But drug resistant epilepsy is life changing and debilitating. The provincial government needs to step up. My son, and so many others, need and deserve proper medical care.
