Such ban has only pushed people to participate in the illicit trade of alcohol and tobbaco products. Buying such has now made one feel as if they are purchasing illegal narcotics. Those who are selling such products illegally are selling cigarettes at R100 a packet. Further the sale of illegal cigarettes such as Pacific and the likes has flooded the industry. The country is also losing 37 million rand a day to the ban. Our courts can not deal as this stage with frivolous matters and neither should police resources be wasted on such.
