Chiara Lloyd-Yeates started this petition to Marvin Rees (Mayor, Bristol City Council)

During this unprecedented time, Bristol City Council has an unique opportunity to address the terrible condition of the roads. There are countless potholes which not only cause damage to vehicles, but also present a huge risk to the lives of road users, particularly cyclists. Road markings have been eroded to the point where they are invisible especially at night or in wet conditions, leading to confusion and accidents. The council needs to appoint a task force to travel round, cone off sections of road, fill in the holes and paint some lines. It does not need to be difficult. It does not need endless meetings, it just needs a highways engineer and some teams who have been empowered to act. Something is better than nothing.
