I hope the council will consider changing all the names of streets, public areas, buildings, schools and other institutions that glorify the slave trade and racists. That includes Whiteladies Road and Blackboy Hill.

I find confounding and compromising to have kept names that belong to another area related to slave trading as a celebration and pride on the streets. Remove it is a strong action and message to move on and turn the page on history books. Call it spring cleaning for our descendants.

People that commit evil deeds in the past or present should never be rewarded or celebrated. Stop future generations from aspiring to those same deeds.
