The Moore Park road is used by hundreds of parents every day, for drop off and pick up for Indooroopilly State School. However the area is not coping with this demand. The current overcrowding at peak times is dangerous and puts all users (especially small children) at risk.
1) Parking in this area has become increasingly difficult due to the removal of multiple carparks. Parents acknowledge that the carparks were added for the two-year Translink construction project, however their recent removal is further restricting a very difficult and busy area. Parents would like to see the carparks reinstated to make the area safer and easier to use in peak times.
2) The Moore Park road is not wide enough to cope with daily traffic. Cars park along one side of the road leaving only a single lane for cars to use and attempt to pass. It is impossible to see if cars are approaching when entering this single lane which often leads to hazardous reversing/turning along this long section of narrow road. This is extremely unsafe and leads to almost daily car accidents and arguments.
