As Sophomores at Westlake Charter High School we believe we have shown that we are responsible, caring, considerate, and bright members of our community and school. Considering this, we think we should have the opportunity to invite one guest per student attending the Homecoming dance. We understand the possible risks and how this could be a hard decision to make. Allowing us to invite one other person would mean trusting us and our judgment fully which can be hard considering we are only sophomores. We believe there should be some rules and regulations on who we are able to invite which will be up to the school staff and administration but we should be given the chance to have fun and hang out with our friends who attend other schools or live in different areas. This will also give students at Westlake the chance to meet and socialize with other people that we otherwise may never have the chance to. Considering all of the risks and the benefits that allowing us to invite a guest to Homecoming may have, we still believe we should at least be given the chance to show we are responsible Westlake students and a chance to spend quality time with friends not just in the Westlake community but also outside of it.
