One of the great firefighters and friends of San Diego Fire, Tom Huygens was in a tough position and needed more income in the recent past. This forced him to make a decision he never wanted to and go to OCFF.   In his short time there he realized how much he loved and missed being here at SDFD with all of us.

Now he has made an even tougher decision to give that up and focus on coming back to our department.  We need your support because it becomes much harder to return after a year away. Unfortunately he missed that mark by two months and now must stand in front of the civil service commission next month to get their permission.

The backing of our senior staff would go a long way in helping him in that meeting.   I am hoping to show them our support of Tom and that it is all of our desire that he returns.  That he was universally respected on this job and was a positive piece of every station and crew he’s been a part of. I don’t need much. Just a signature that behind this petition and hopefully forwarding this on to anyone on the job you have contact information for.
