As you all know, Tatyana Butler has been expelled from school in regards to an incident that not only took place out of school but with someone who was not enrolled in this district. Not only did this effect her right to receive a fair education but this bias decision was made without proper investigation or a reasonable explanation. A decision beyond the district of educations scope of authority. The reasoning given to which resulted in Tatyana's expulsion was that she imposed a safety threat. Tatyana exercised her civil right of self defense which is taught in the very environment to which she was expelled. Just because she succeeded in defending herself doesn't mean she is a threat to her peers. The message that is being delivered is that if you succeed in self defense it will come at a cost. This decision is contradictory and unjust. So I'm asking her peers and the family and friends of her peers, if you feel like Tatyana's presence at school does NOT impose a threat to your safety or wellbeing then sign this petition. We the people can promote justice.
