Recess is a necessity for students. More and more middle and high schools are cutting recess and students are being burned out. Everyone can use a break, recess provides unstructured free time for students to build their own activities, fostering creativity. Even though some people deny that students need recess, many organizations and even the CDC recommends recess!

During recess, students are encouraged to be physically active and engaged with their peers in activities of their choice, at all grade levels, kindergarten through 12th grade." - CDC
