Ellie ran into stables in Beckton, East London on the evening of February 14th 2019. She was underweight and terrified.

The staff managed to catch Ellie and the well meaning Centre Manager filed an online report to Newham Animal Services.

Despite being scared and defensive, she harmed nobody.

The following morning the yard manager arrived and sat down to try and gain Ellies trust - unfortunately,  just 20 minutes later with Ellie starting to show progress, the wardens arrived and here Ellies fight began.

The wardens took Ellie mistaking her fear for agressiveness and despite the yard manager wanting to give Ellie a home if she wasn't claimed, the wardens refused saying she was too dangerous to rehome. At no point was the finder informed of her right to keep Ellie for 28 days.

On the 22nd of February Newham Council informed us of their intention to kill Ellie at 4pm forcing us to take legal proceedings to prevent this.

Our only legal avenue was to apply for  a Judicial Review and we are now awaiting a date for the hearing at a cost of several thousand pounds to ourselves and undoubtably the same to the taxpayers of Newham.

In the meantime, we ask Newham Council to release Ellie, she isn't a prohibited breed, she hasn't bitten anyone and an independent assessor has declared that she is not dangerous. A loving home awaits her and she deserves the chance to be part of a loving home.
