Help our county by funding cahoots (crisis assistance helping out on the streets). Cahoots is an organization based out of Eugene Oregon established in 1989. Each cahoots team consists of two individuals. One who is a crisis handler and one who is an EMT. The crisis handlers are psychologists and psychiatrists that are highly trained to de-escalate situations. Cahoots workers address and provide:

•Crisis Counseling
•Suicide Prevention, assessment, and intervention
•Conflict resolution and mediation   
•Grief and loss    
•Substance use and abuse  
•Housing crisis  
•First aid and non-emergency medical care
•Resource connection and referral
•Transportation to services
• …….and more.

On top of all this, when a member of the cahoots team was on the scene, there has not been a single person injured or killed in over 30 years. We can fund this organization by defunding police who do not provide nearly as much safety or security as the cahoots team.
