Because the safety of helpless animals are very important to most people & I for one want to be able to see that they're taken care of in a humane way!

The employees of the Memphis animal shelter are paid by US. We need them to be accountable and if they cannot behave in a kind way to those they are made responsible for they should be fired. Removing the webcams tells us that they are hiding something and we cannot tolerate abusive behavior tward animals who have already been through too much.

Transparency in how the shelter is maintained and how animals are treated is important. Web cams help keep everyone honest.

There is a vast amount of abuse witnessed and reported from this location over the years it is appalling. Healthy animals being euthanized just for having one too many in their care, or neglecting them to the point of euthanasia being a necessity. They are treating them as burdens while making very minimal efforts to improve adoption process. The amount of controversy here in Memphis over this shelter the webcams are necessary in order to provide evidence for either side of this conflict. Employees were not charged with animal cruelty for nothing. They are giving these animals no chance with no concern and no effort to get help. Change needs to come. People need to see.

The webcams offer some protection to the unfortunate animals in this disgusting "shelter".

ALL of my foster and adopted animals came from Memphis. There is a total disregard for animals at 'the pound' which contributes to the abuse within its walls and then permeates to the community. TRANSPARENCY is needed now! The public has a right to 'view' their tax dollars at work.

Unfortunately, without some type of oversight, BY THOSE WHO CARE, too many folks, with no vested interest other than a paycheck, will behave badly toward these animals.
