On April 1st, 2022 Tumblr released an April fools update to the website which added new and cool features. Among these features was the crab button. when pressed, the button would spawn numerous pixelated crabs which would walk around the user's screen.

  After April 1st, the update was, of course, removed. This caused major backlash. The comunity was devastated, but understanding at the same time. Because this update was only meant to last for the day, people understood that it wouldn't stay, but the community fell in love with the crab button.

  This petition is meant to bring back the carb button! If we get enough signatures, the crab button might become a permanent feature to Tumblr, but we are willing to settle for a crab button that will reappear on holidays.(this could work with the addition of holiday themed hats added to the crabs that will spawn when the button is pressed.)

  We ask that, if you are also a Tumblr user who wants the crabs back, to sign this petition and share it with your friends and mutuals!
