The City of Troy has decided to remove 4 stoplights at the exit/entrance points of our downtown.  The removal of these lights and replacing them with simple right of way for pedestrians has created many problems as far as traffic flow, additional costs in signage and decorations (flower pots) to protect the pedestrians and created more distractions for drivers (esp. those who aren’t used to the roundabout and it’s unique properties.   The removal of these lights have created a number of accidents between vehicles and the large flower pots.  And, unfortunately, a pedestrian was hit recently.   This petition is to bring awareness to the city leaders that the citizens are very concerned about the safety of both drivers and pedestrians and want changes to be made.
